One truck, one rule

Houston's Best Garage Door started in 2011 with a single van, a set of winding bars and one rule that has not changed since: never sell somebody a repair they do not need. That sounds obvious. In this trade it is not.

A garage door is a system most homeowners have never looked at closely, mounted above head height, made of parts nobody can name. That makes it very easy to invent problems — and the industry has a long, well-earned reputation for doing exactly that. Ask anyone in Houston who has had a $59 service call turn into a $2,400 quote in eleven minutes.

So we built the company around removing the doubt. Every job includes photos of the failed part, in place, before we touch it. Every quote is written and flat before a tool comes off the truck. If your door is fine, we tell you it is fine, hand you the report and see you next year.

Why "Houston's Best"?

Because it is a claim you have to keep earning, in public, one driveway at a time. We are not a national franchise with a Houston phone number. We are a Houston company: our trucks park in Houston driveways at night, our technicians' kids go to school here, and the reviews under our name were written by people who live within a few miles of you.

That also means we understand what this specific city does to a garage door. Gulf humidity rusts springs and cables from the outside in. Attached garages hit 130°F in August and cook the plastic rollers and opener gears. This region floods, and flood damage to door hardware shows up months later, not the day after. And every summer the coast reminds us that a garage door is the largest opening in a building envelope and the most common point of catastrophic storm failure. A company that learned the trade in Phoenix does not have that in its hands.

What we actually do differently

  • Flat prices, quoted before the work. Not an estimate that grows. If we find a second problem we stop and show you before touching it.
  • Photos on every visit, emailed with the invoice, yours to keep and to forward to an insurer or a buyer's inspector.
  • The balance test nobody else does. We do not leave until the door holds still at knee, waist and shoulder height with the opener disconnected. That single test is the best predictor of how long your springs and opener will live.
  • Springs sized by measured door weight, not guessed. A spring ten pounds out of spec runs rough and dies early, and it is the most common fault we find on somebody else's recent install.
  • One crew for the whole system — springs, cables, rollers, track, openers, sensors, panels and full doors. No being passed between a repair company and an installer.
  • 2-year parts and labour warranty on every repair we perform.

Trained to the standards that matter

Our technicians work to the manufacturer specifications for every brand sold in Texas — Clopay, Amarr, Wayne Dalton, Overhead Door, CHI, Raynor — and to DASMA industry standards for door and opener installation, spring sizing and safety testing. We carry full liability insurance and workers' compensation, and we will send the certificate directly to whoever needs it before we mobilise.

The neighbourhoods we know

We know these houses. The alley-entry garages in West University and Bellaire that need low-headroom or high-lift track because a standard install will not physically fit. The three-car masterplanned streets in Katy, Cypress and Fulshear where whole phases hit the 10,000-cycle spring wall in the same year. The salt-air corrosion in Seabrook and Baytown. The flood-damaged hardware in Dickinson and Humble. The oversized shop doors on acreage in Magnolia and Crosby that residential-only companies turn down.

That pattern recognition is not a marketing point. It is why we can usually tell you what is probably wrong before we are off the ladder, and be right.

Giving back

Ten percent off any repair for active duty military, veterans, police, fire and EMS. No paperwork, no forms — tell us when you book. It is the least a Houston company can do for the people who show up when this city floods.
